USA united in business

The Mermaid Exhibition Centre in Blackfriars, London, was the venue on March 17 for the largest-ever Unite Visit USA event.

Over 50 exhibitors enjoyed the opportunity to meet with a similar number of buyers and tour operators at the third staging of this annual popular event.

Visit California, Daytona Beach CVB, Greater Miami & Beaches, Kansas & Oklahoma Travel & Tourism, Rocky Mountain International and Air Europa were among the Visit USA members who participated.

Show founder Debbie Flanagan commented: "The show is cost-effective for suppliers and there is no charge for buyers (tour operators) to attend."

“The venue is in an easily accessible location, appointments are made in advance and the networking buffet lunch – sponsored by Brand USA this year – works well and offers an opportunity to touch base with other delegates beyond those scheduled for an appointment,” added Flanagan.

Said Joanna Cooke, Visit California: "Unite was brilliantly organised! It was a really useful day and great to catch up with so many quality tour operators as well as meeting new operators and establishing new business connections."

Speaking at the event, Jonathan Sloan, Chair of Visit USA said: “Unite Visit USA has proved to be very popular with our members. Exhibitors are able to talk to a large number of tour operators and buyers in one place during a single day. Also, as Unite falls the day after the Visit USA General Meeting it allows our members from all over the country to participate in both events.”

During the lunch session Brand USA's Gerry Boyle presented an update regarding the recent launch of the Brand USA-sponsored film America Wild: National Parks Adventure and other relevant 2016 initiatives.

Next year’s Unite Visit USA Show takes place on March 16 2017 at the same venue.
