Visit USA looks for excellent coverage

It is that time of year again when Visit USA calls for entries for its annual Visit USA Media Awards, sponsored this year by Dallas CVB and Fort Worth CVB.


U.S. destinations and organisations that have experienced strong media coverage over the past 12 months are invited to submit their entires.

The winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony in London on Tuesday July 5. To qualify, all articles and features must have been published or transmitted between March 1 2015 and February 29 2016 in any UK newspaper or magazine, on UK television or radio, or on the internet.

The main subject of the article or feature should be travel to or within the USA and, as well as being informative and portray the USA as an attractive holiday destination, it must specifically mention at least one Visit USA Member.

A list of Members can be found on the Visit USA website at This year’s categories include National Newspaper Feature, Regional Newspaper Feature, Consumer Travel Magazine Feature, General Consumer Magazine Feature, Travel Trade Press Feature, Broadcast Programme (TV, Radio or Internet), Online Feature, Photographic Travel Feature and Blog Feature.

The overall Visit USA Travel Writer of the Year Award shortlist will be selected by the judges from the entries received in all award categories.

All entries must be submitted as an electronic/pdf file of the original published format and accompanied by a completed entry form.

The closing date for entries has been extended until after Easter and is now 17.00 on April 15, giving everyone the opportunity to put forward their strongest media coverage for consideration by the judging panel.
