TrekAmerica’s epic tour

TrekAmerica, the tour operator aimed at groups of young, like-minded travellers of up to 14 people, has a new tour exploring east coast cities and some Deep South highlights.


The 'Big Eastern' tour, which starts running this month (April), is a 21-day itinerary that crams in 18 states, starting with the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC and the Carolinas, before heading south to explore the music scenes of New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville. Also included are stops in Chicago, Detroit, Ohio, Boston and Niagara Falls.

Experiences along the way include a visit to Graceland and Sun Studio in Memphis; walking tours of New Orleans, Philadelphia and Boston's Freedom Trail; a Mississippi riverboat trip (pictured); watching live country, blues and jazz and tucking into southern cuisine in Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans; a visit to the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame and a baseball game in Boston or Chicago.

Accommodation is a combination of hostels, hotels and camping. There are six departures scheduled this year, with 'Big Eastern' tour prices starting from £1,919pp.

The lead-in price with flights is £2,529pp.



Virgin has Orlando package

Virgin Holidays has a seven-night deal to Orlando, Florida, priced from £2,399.


The package, which includes scheduled Virgin Atlantic flights from Gatwick to Orlando, room-only accommodation at the 4V Doubletree by Hilton at SeaWorld, and car hire, is based on a departure on June 15 2016.‎
